Budgets

Track event budgets and monitor spending against limits.

The budget module helps you define financial limits per event and track actual spending against those limits. Monitor which budgets are on track and which are at risk of being exceeded.

Budget Overview

The budget list provides a financial summary:

  • Budget Name - Descriptive name for the budget (e.g., "Marketing Budget", "Venue Costs")
  • Amount Limit - Maximum budget amount defined for this item
  • Amount Used - Current spending tracked against this budget
  • Active Status - Whether the budget is currently active or inactive
  • Over Budget - Count of budgets where spending exceeds the defined limit

Event Filtering

View budgets per event or across all events:

  • By Event - Filter budgets for a specific event
  • All Events - View budgets across all events at once
  • Status Filter - Filter by active or inactive budgets
  • Search - Search budgets by name

Budget Statistics

Summary statistics for the current view:

  • Total Budget - Sum of all budget limits
  • Total Spent - Sum of all used amounts
  • Over Budget Count - Number of budgets exceeding their limit

Tips

  • Create budgets early in event planning to track spending from the start
  • Use event-specific budgets to keep finances organized per event
  • Regularly review over-budget items to take corrective action

Notes

  • The budgets feature requires the "budgets" feature flag to be enabled
  • Budget tracking is view-only for non-admin users
