Tasks
Business+Manage tasks for your team with priorities, assignments, and entity linking.
The task module helps you organize team work, track progress, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Tasks can be linked to any entity in the system and assigned to team members with priorities and due dates. Requires the Tasks feature flag to be enabled.
Creating a Task
Fields available when creating a new task:

Title - Brief description of the task (required)

Description - Detailed context, requirements, and instructions

Assigned To - Select which team member is responsible. Tasks appear on their dashboard

Due Date - Deadline for the task. Overdue tasks are highlighted in red on the dashboard

Priority - Urgent (red), High (orange), Normal (blue), Low (gray). Affects sort order and dashboard visibility

Entity Link - Optionally link the task to an event, participant, application, contact, invoice, document, booth reservation, submission, or service order
Task Statuses
Understanding the task lifecycle:

Pending - Task has been created but not yet started. Shown in gray

In Progress - Task is actively being worked on. Shown in blue

Completed - Task was finished. Records who completed it and when. Shown in green

Cancelled - Task was abandoned or is no longer needed. Shown with strikethrough
Entity Linking
Tasks can be linked to any of these entity types for context:

Event - Link to an event (e.g., "Prepare signage for Spring Expo")

Event Participant - Link to a specific participant (e.g., "Follow up on missing documents")

Application - Link to an application (e.g., "Review application from Company X")

Contact - Link to a contact (e.g., "Update billing address")

Invoice - Link to an invoice (e.g., "Chase overdue payment")

Document - Link to a document (e.g., "Review contract draft")

Booth Reservation - Link to a booth reservation (e.g., "Confirm power requirements")

Submission - Link to a submission (e.g., "Review uploaded logo")

Service Order - Link to a service order (e.g., "Arrange furniture delivery")
Filtering and Searching
Find tasks efficiently:

By Status - Filter by Pending, In Progress, Completed, or Cancelled

By Priority - Show only tasks with a specific priority level
-
By Assignment - View tasks assigned to a specific team member or unassigned tasks

By Event - Show tasks linked to a specific event
-
Overdue Only - Filter to show only tasks past their due date

Search - Free text search by task title or description
Dashboard Integration
Tasks appear prominently on the admin dashboard:

My Tasks Widget - Shows the 4 most recent tasks assigned to the current admin

Overdue Tasks - Overdue tasks appear in the "What To Do Today" section with critical priority

Tasks Due Today - Tasks with today as their due date are highlighted

Task Statistics - Overview of total, overdue, pending, and completed task counts
Notifications
Task-related notifications:

Assignment Notification - When a task is assigned, the assignee receives a notification

Status Change - Task creator is notified when the status changes

Overdue Alert - Overdue tasks trigger notifications to the assigned admin
Tips
- Use the calendar view for a time-based overview of tasks alongside events
- Filter by assignment to see your own tasks quickly
- Link tasks to entities so related information is always one click away
- Use priorities consistently across your team for effective workload management
- Check the dashboard "What To Do Today" section for overdue and due-today tasks
Notes
- Tasks require the Tasks feature flag to be enabled in Settings
- Completed tasks record the admin who completed them and the timestamp
- Deleted tasks are moved to the trash and can be restored within 30 days
- Task entity links are preserved when the linked entity is soft-deleted
