The e-signature module enables legally binding electronic signatures without paper.

Signature Workflow

  • Prepare Document - Add signature fields to template
  • Request Signature - Send email with signature link
  • Sign Document - Recipient signs digitally
  • Confirmation - Both parties receive signed document

Signature Status

  • Pending - Signature has been requested
  • Sent - Email was delivered
  • Viewed - Recipient has opened document
  • Signed - Signature was completed
  • Declined - Recipient refused to sign
  • Expired - Signature deadline exceeded
  • Voided - Signature request was voided by the admin

Settings

  • Signature Provider - Choose between Dropbox Sign (HelloSign) or DocuSign
  • Dropbox Sign (HelloSign) - Configure API key, client ID, and sandbox mode for testing
  • DocuSign - Connect via OAuth with integration key, account ID, and environment (demo/production)
  • Connection Test - Test the connection to your configured provider
  • Webhook Secret - Auto-generated secret for verifying webhook callbacks from the provider
  • Reminders - Automatic reminders on delay
  • Validity Period - Deadline for signature request

Tips

  • Electronic signatures are legally equivalent to handwritten ones
  • Test the signature process with a test document
  • All signed documents are automatically archived
  • Use DocuSign sandbox or HelloSign sandbox mode for testing before going live

Notes

  • Both Dropbox Sign (HelloSign) and DocuSign require separate provider accounts
  • DocuSign connects via OAuth - click "Connect" in e-signature settings to authorize
  • Audit trail documents the entire signature process
