Custom Domain
from EnterpriseConnect your own domain to your PlanDocket account.
Under Settings → Integrations → Custom Domain you connect your own domain (e.g. events.yourcompany.com) to your account. Requires the Enterprise plan and the switch under Features.
Enter the Domain
- Current Subdomain
- Your existing PlanDocket address; it is also the target of the CNAME record
- Custom Domain
- Enter your domain without http:// or https:// and save
DNS Configuration
Create one of the following record sets with your DNS provider:
- Option 1: Subdomain (recommended)
- For e.g. www or events, a CNAME record pointing to your subdomain is all you need
- Option 2: Root domain without subdomain
- Root domains (e.g. company.com) do not support CNAME. Create an A record and, to prove that you own the domain, the TXT record shown as well
- Waiting time
- DNS changes can take up to 48 hours
Verification and SSL
- Verify DNS
- Checks the DNS records. Once the check succeeds, the SSL certificate is issued automatically; this can take a few minutes
- Retry
- Starts the check again after a failure, e.g. when the DNS records had not propagated yet
Domain Status
- Not Configured
- No custom domain has been entered
- DNS Verification Pending
- The domain is saved, the DNS records are not confirmed yet
- SSL Certificate Being Issued
- DNS is verified, the certificate is being created
- Active
- The domain is set up; the page also shows until when the SSL certificate is valid
- Failed
- Verification or certificate issuing failed. Check the DNS records and try again
Remove the Domain
- Remove Domain
- Removes the custom domain; your account is then reachable only under the default subdomain again
Tips
- Use a subdomain with a CNAME record where possible; it is the simplest option
- Plan the switch ahead, because DNS changes can take up to 48 hours
Notes
- Requires the Enterprise plan, the switch under Features, and the permissions "View settings" or "Edit settings"
- Domains of the platform itself cannot be used as a custom domain
